Project RISE

Project RISE is an academic enrichment, employment, and scholarship program transforming the lives of underserved young people from historically marginalized communities, with a focus on students of color.

The dual mission of Project RISE is to provide high touch academic enrichment, employment, and scholarship opportunities for young people, while seeking to improve secondary schools, trade schools, institutions of higher education, and the work force with more robust, diverse pipelines of talented, hard-working students.

Project RISE begins in July 2024 with RISE@SJP, a six-week summer program with supplemental year-round programming that prepares 75 traditionally underserved, highly motivated students in grades 6-12 for the rigors of secondary school, higher education, and the workforce. Project RISE aims to enhance academic performance, developing the whole child in terms of social, cultural, economic, and emotional well-being.

Rising students in grades 6-12 students may apply. Although students’ grades and character are considered, most important to our selection process is student attendance. We are currently working with numerous partners to meet interested students.

Invest in RISE

Project RISE is working closely with individuals, public school districts, and institutions committed to stemming the harmful effects of two plagues ravaging our country and having a disproportionate effect on students and communities of color: systemic racism and COVID-19. We invite your financial support as we enroll students and hire staff.

Your financial investment in RISE provides access to families with limited financial resources, allowing their children to participate in our academic and cultural enrichment program for the summer of 2024. It will take a tremendous collective effort if we are going to change the lives of so many students in need of support. The financial contribution from a variety of donors will help eliminate the "opportunity gap" for many of the underserved families that Project RISE serves.

Many thanks in advance for your consideration and encouragement.
